What do the Veenkoloniën sound like? Composer and jazz pianist Jurriaan Berger (Zaandam) took on the challenge of creating a composition that resonates with both the past and the present of this region. Berger races across the former peatlands, meets a variety of Northerners, and collects characteristic sounds from then and now. The Veenkoloniaal Symphony Orchestra serves as his sounding board, accompanying him on this journey and performing the new piece.
