ANS, the Astronomical Netherlands Satellite, was launched in 1974.
ANS was far ahead of its time: the world’s first digital satellite. Even NASA was astonished by the ingenious technology and assisted with the launch. Yet the story of its construction and discoveries has largely faded into obscurity. With this film, ANS reclaims its well-deserved place in the canon of Dutch science.
